All those who have met Mike, owner and operator of Kobella Plumbing Heating Cooling, will tell you he’s a real pleasure to work with – from the moment he first introduces himself at your door to the handshake after a job is finished.
However, we understand the challenges of finding the right company to welcome into your home for a plumbing, heating or cooling project, so we’ve put together a brief introduction to help you better understand who you’ll be working with.
Q: What first inspired you to start Kobella Plumbing Heating Cooling?
I was ready to operate a business focused on providing best-in-class service. And, not one of those business that markets best-in-class service but then falls short; a business that truly delivers on the promise. I also wanted to build an energetic team of the finest technicians who share my passion for excellence and integrity.
Q: When growing your team, what’s the number one personality trait you look for in a new employee?
It’s a tie between positive attitude and integrity.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working in this industry?
Meeting new people and forming lasting relationships. I really enjoy helping people to solve their plumbing, heating and cooling problems.
Q: If you had to be stuck undertaking one service all day, what would it be?
I enjoy working with water treatment equipment and well pumps, helping customers to identify and solve quality issues with their well water. There are so many benefits to filtered water – healthier drinking, softer clothes, hair and skin, fewer stains around fixtures – and it’s a pleasure to be able to help homeowners achieve that.
Q: What’s one of your tasks that most people probably don’t know is part of a technician’s job?
We’ve found that some of the important services included in our Preventive Maintenance Plan – checking combustion and static pressure – aren’t part of routine checks for other companies. It’s important to us that all Kobella technicians are as thorough as possible.
Q: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve found in a customer’s pipes or duct vents?
We found a Cookie Monster toy in a sewer pipe. Our best guess, is that he was accidentally flushed down the toilet.
So, you’ve learned a little more about how the company came to be, what Mike enjoys most about the job, and what he looks for in a technician working by his side. But, now a little about the man himself.
Q: If you hadn’t pursued this career, what else do you think you might have become?
Hmm…probably a police officer. Albeit in a very different way, I’d still be helping people to solve problems.
Q: Do you root for any Cleveland sports teams?
Sadly, no. My busy schedule has not allowed for time to follow sports.
Q: Where would you like to travel the next time you’re able to get away from work for a whole week?
The Bahamas. That turquoise water is calling my name.
Q: What personal interest, hobbies, or passions do you wish you had more time for?
I’m always up for outdoor activities like hiking, hunting and fishing.
